During the official groundbreaking ceremony on 5 December 2023, Peter Kniprath, Head of SCHOTT Business Unit Electronic Packaging, welcomed Landshut's Lord Mayor Alexander Putz, Lower Bavaria's District President Rainer Haselbeck and others to celebrate the start of a new era together.
Commitment to the region and Bavaria
"As the center of our site, the new building will enable us to strengthen Landshut as one of the most important innovation and development locations of the SCHOTT Group," explains Peter Kniprath, Head of SCHOTT’s Electronic Packaging Business Unit.Site manager Thomas Gassner adds, "By optimizing the structures and creating state-of-the-art production facilities, we will be able to further improve our international competitiveness and create a modern and future-oriented environment for our employees."
The new building in the heart of Bavaria reaffirms SCHOTT’s commitment to the region, after doing business there for more than 80 years. The expansion further strengthens Landshut's standing as a thriving business hub. "With over 550 employees, SCHOTT in Landshut is one of the most important employers and has been one of our city's flagship companies for decades," said Lord Mayor Alexander Putz. "We are delighted that this leading global technology company is once again emphasizing its close ties to Landshut with its new building. This will further increase Landshut's attractiveness as a location for highly qualified workers."
