“Outdoors” has become a mega-trend: 79% of humans hear the call of the outdoors. No matter whether it is summer or winter, night or day, or merely always. What would it be like if you could have the feeling of warmth, security and coziness of the indoors in an outdoor atmosphere? What if it could all be found in an outdoor fireplace that offers protection, yet is as open and transparent as nature itself?

„The idea of extending the gardening season with a glass-enclosed outdoor fire has fascinated us for some time. With the Rüegg SURPRISE, we have now put this dream into reality. The fact that you can grill and cook on it to perfection coupled with its glass-ceramic enclosure makes for twice the gardening pleasure.“

Innovation
Under starry skies almost anything is possible especially when there’s a material that can offer all of the comforts from indoors such as warmth, security and design freedom.
Glass-ceramic is the dynamic solution for the outdoors
SCHOTT ROBAX® fire viewing panels are perfectly suited for the newest social area and living space – the “outdoors”. The special properties of glass-ceramics really come into its own in the great outdoors.
up to 270°
impact resistant
up to 760° Celsius
almost entirely
It will not be long before it is possible to enjoy a closer view of an outdoor fire. That is because fire viewing panels provide protection from flying sparks, escaping flames and smoke.
Sudden rain or snow and even flying objects pose no threat to the heated panel. Glass-ceramics can withstand the demands of nature due to its mechanical and thermal properties. In fact, it has been certified by Germany’s Technical Control Association (TÜV).
270° fire viewing panel:
The view really opens up
In the outdoors, watching the flames of a fire is a fundamental aspect of complete fireplace experience. SCHOTT ROBAX® fire viewing panels can be produced with an opening angle of up to 270°. With two attaching 180° panels it is even possible to achieve a 360° panoramic fire viewing.
