SCHOTT Christmas campaign for the children of refugees

Employees grant children’s wishes
Mainz, December 15/16, 2014. SCHOTT AG has been busy working on a major Christmas campaign for the children of refugees over the last few weeks. 113 children from the refugee shelters run by the foundation Juvente Mainz and Malteser Hilfsdienst in Mainz either wrote down or painted their wishes onto wish lists that they produced themselves. These were then handed out at the Mainz-based technology group and the employees purchased and wrapped the presents. The employees have now actually handed out the Christmas gifts to the children.

Nathalie Kirschstein and Jana Knaus from the Marketing and Communication department of SCHOTT AG coordinated the activity. “The response was simply overwhelming. More than 200 employees participated. The wish lists were picked up almost immediately; therefore employees spontaneously decided to form groups and purchased more than 50 large team presents,” Nathalie Kirschstein reports.

The refugee children were absolutely delighted when the employees stopped by to hand out the presents at the Juvente Mainz foundation’s homes on Wilhelm-Quetsch-Straße and Zwerchallee, but also at a joint shelter run by Malteser on Ludwigsburger Straße.

All of SCHOTT’s five other sites in Germany, including Grünenplan, Jena, Mitterteich, Müllheim and Landshut, engaged in similar activities. These employees also bought Christmas presents for refugee or handicapped children, but also for needy families.
