Education is future
SCHOTT supports numerous educational projects and partner schools, for example in India. Here alone, nearly 500 children and young people from eight schools have benefited from the educational partnership so far in the past fiscal year.
In Germany, SCHOTT is a partner in the educational projects Jugend Forscht, Wissensfabrik, Mathematik ohne Grenzen, Leben mit Chemie and many more.
The Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung is the oldest private foundation in Germany that promotes science. Its projects are financed from the dividend distributions of the two foundation companies SCHOTT and Carl Zeiss. Besides, SCHOTT supports students worldwide, for example through the Heinrich J. Klein Foundation, the Otto Schott Research Award, scholarships in the U.S., or SCHOTT's FIOLAX® scholarship in India.
SCHOTT supports social projects for disadvantaged people worldwide. Also, numerous institutions from the cultural sector have been able to count on our support for a long time. With the largest Beneziflauf Run for Children® and since 2020 Act for Children, over 2 million euros in donations have already been collected for this good cause. "SCHOTT RestCent" - that is the name of the campaign that employees at the six German company locations use to donate the cents from their monthly payroll to a good cause and to make a big difference.
TSV SCHOTT Mainz was founded when the plant in Mainz was built in the early 1950s. In the meantime, the club has become the largest popular sports club in Rhineland-Palatinate. SCHOTT supports clubs around the world that are based at its locations. From local baseball teams in the USA to ice hockey clubs in Russia.
Environmental and sustainability issues also play a major role in the social sphere. Whether it is waste collection campaigns, planting trees, or the climate-neutral printing of our employee magazine, which has already financed a well in Togo. The SCHOTT site in Mitterteich was recently recognized as a "flourishing company" for its commitment to species and insect protection.
