Pure fire experience
ROBAX NightFlame™ ensures a familiar yet incomparable fire experience when turned on. Compared to a transparent ROBAX® panel, ROBAX NightFlame™ delivers an almost identical fire experience when on. When switched off, it reduces the view into the combustion chamber with its residues and dirt, making it your choice whether to clean the appliance after it’s cooled down or just before the next firing.

With ROBAX NightFlame™ curved, the fireplace showcases even more of the fire’s beauty. The curved, semi-transparent black fire viewing panel provides an even more intense experience that shows off the flames particularly well - from multiple perspectives.

FAQ
ROBAX NightFlame™ is a specialty semi-transparent, black glass-ceramic. The dead-front effect is an inherent property of the material. When the flames in the fireplace are extinguished, the black glass-ceramic conceals the view into the combustion chamber, giving it an almost black appearance. Unlike surface coatings, this effect is permanent and resistant to mechanical wear.
ROBAX NightFlame™ is an innovative material that provides a natural dead-front effect through its semi-transparent black appearance. However, fireplace installations often serve as central design elements in living spaces and may remain unused for extended periods. The dead-front effect of ROBAX NightFlame™ minimizes the visibility of dirt and residue into the combustion chamber when the fireplace is inactive. When the fireplace is in use, the flames are displayed with a nearly unchanged color, maintaining an authentic fire experience similar to transparent ROBAX® glass-ceramic. ROBAX NightFlame™ is an alternative fire-viewing panel that provides your customers with a broader range of options.
Yes, both glass-ceramic types fulfill all the necessary standards for fire-viewing panels. This means a transparent ROBAX® fire-viewing panel can be seamlessly replaced with a ROBAX NightFlame™ panel of identical thickness without the need for further testing or certification.
The design options for ROBAX NightFlame™ curved are consistent with those available for curved, transparent ROBAX® fire-viewing panels. We recommend submitting an inquiry regarding customized or specialized geometries. We will review these requests to determine their feasibility.
Usually, a frame decoration is designed to conceal construction elements, gaskets or inner linings close to the panel Therefore we recommend applying a frame decoration on ROBAX NightFlame™ if there would be a frame decoration also on a transparent ROBAX® panel. We recommend reviewing the specific application with a sample panel to determine the best fit. For ROBAX NightFlame™, the frame decoration is available in the color “modern black” and can feature a logo in either “modern black” or “polar white.”
The installation guidelines for ROBAX NightFlame™ panels are consistent with those for transparent ROBAX® panels. Regular cleaning, following the recommended procedures for transparent glass-ceramic, is also advised. Additional information can be found in the section titled “What is the recommended method for cleaning ROBAX NightFlame™?” For any detailed questions or assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the SCHOTT ROBAX® team.
Although the dead-front effect of ROBAX NightFlame™ visually conceals dirt and residue, these particles may still be present. Therefore, regular cleaning of the fire-viewing panel is advised, similar to the maintenance of a transparent ROBAX® panel. For those who use the fireplace daily, it is recommended to clean the panel at least twice a week to reduce residue build-up. However, a key benefit of ROBAX NightFlame™ is the flexibility in scheduling cleaning routines since dirt will be less visible. To gently clean all types of ROBAX® fire-viewing panels, we recommend using the ROBAX® Dry Wiper to simply wipe the interior of the panels. Please avoid abrasive sponges, as they can cause light scratches or staining.
