Whether powering a smartphone or an electric bike, protecting Li-ion battery packs from overcurrent and overcharging is key to safety and reliability. SEFUSE® battery fuses and SEREB® thermal battery protection switches are used to protect Li-ion battery packs. SEFUSE® battery fuses include D6S type and S type, which protect Li-ion batteries from overcurrent and overcharging. The S type is a lead-free* product that reduces environmental impact. SEREB® battery protectors prevent overheating and overcurrent.

The compact, space-saving designs of SCHOTT’s battery protection components make them ideal for applications with limited space. Surface-mount battery fuses come in ultra-thin profiles as slim as 0.85 mmm, and thermal protection switches are crafted from lightweight materials to reduce footprint.

SEFUSE® D6S battery and SEREB®

Product variants

SCHOTT offers two types of protection devices for rechargeable Li-ion batteries: the SEFUSE® battery fuse and the SEREB® battery protector. SEFUSE® battery fuses include D6S and S types, which protect Li-ion batteries from damage and abnormalities caused by overcurrent and overcharging. SEREB® thermal battery protection switches are resettable devices that detect abnormal temperature rises of battery cells to prevent dangerous overheating.
