SCHOTT offers two high-quality porous glass types, with the right pore size for every purpose. CoralPor® Nano-Porous glass starts from approximately 4 nm pore size, while CoralPor® Macro-Porous glass is available from ~ 1 μm up to any desired value.

CoralPor® Nano-Porous

The interconnected coral-like structure of CoralPor® Nano-Porous glass is created during a special production process in which the borosilicate mother glass is subjected to meticulously controlled thermal and chemical treatment. This creates open porosity that can be tailored to meet even the most demanding customer specifications.

YOUR ADVANTAGES

    - Low coefficient of thermal expansion

CoralPor® Macro-Porous

CoralPor® Macro-Porous glasses have a comparatively coarse pore structure. They are usually manufactured from alkali silicate or borosilicate mother glasses, but are not limited to such compositions. The open porous structure can be tailored over a wide range of size and volume.

    -With an average pore size between 1–500 μm
