Technical Details of Optical Coatings

SCHOTT is able to offer an extensive range of optical coatings thanks to the consistently high technical properties of our products. This means we can improve the optical system performance for a wide range of applications and customize the spectral performance of optical components to your exact needs.

Thin film coatings for enhanced spectral performance

Outstanding transmission

Our anti-reflective and filter coatings ensure high transmission over a wide spectral range, from UV to IR. Depending on the required bandwidths and number of laser lines, transmission can be tailored to your specific needs.

High reflectivity across the range

SCHOTT offers very high reflectivity across a wide spectral range, allowing the precise steering of light to suit your application. Our portfolio of metallic and dielectric mirror coatings provides the perfect tailored solution, especially in high power laser applications and beam steering.

Outstanding durability

Our broad portfolio of durable filters and hard coatings excel in a variety of environments to ensure long-term stable performance. This performance is achieved by utilizing modern coating technologies such as magnetron and ion beam sputtering, as well as rugged filter assemblies.

High LIDT

Our dielectric mirror and AR coatings provide outstanding durability for high-power laser applications, withstanding highest laser fluence. LIDT performance can be optimized for laser type, pulse duration and wavelength.

Anti-Reflection Coatings

Anti Reflection Coatings increase the overall transmission of optical systems by minimizing surface reflections. SCHOTT offers a broad portfolio of AR coating types tailored for a wide range of applications, including imaging, Laser, and defense and aerospace, covering the wavelength range from DUV to IR.
