SEFUSE®

The operating principle of thermal links is based on the concept that the thermal element will melt and shut off the electrical current in the event of the ambient temperature reaching a hazardous level. SCHOTT offers a wide selection of thermal links covering a full range of operating temperatures and rated currents.

Options for every application

SCHOTT offers a wide range of thermal links with rated current from 0.5-15A and operating temperature from 73-240℃, enabling customers to make a selection optimized for exact application requirements.

Eco-friendly

SEFUSE® thermal links do not contain hazardous substances and comply with WEEE and RoHS standards. In addition, the sliding contacts of SEFUSE® SF-type thermal links are made of an environmentally-friendly silver copper oxide (AgCuO) material that's patented worldwide.

Excellent temperature rating

The SFH/R series has high Tm (maximum temperature limit) and delivers excellent insulation performance at high temperatures thanks to a thermal pellet using innovative new materials.
SEFUSE® thermal links product table

There are two SEFUSE® types: SF and SM. The SF-type uses thermosensitive material as the thermal pellet, while the SM-type uses a fusible alloy.  Both types are suitable for a wide range of applications. SEFUSE Thermal links Product Table

* About CCC Self-Declaration number

Due to the publication of new implementation rules from the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNCA), the authentication method of thermal links was changed to CCC Self-Declaration (Index No. 2019-1571296947171 / Document No. 2019 No. 44). SCHOTT SEFUSE® thermal links that had acquired CCC certification have completed the conversion to the CCC Self-Declaration accordingly.

SEFUSE SF type Ratings

Note

  1. No use of hazardous substances prescribed by WEEE and RoHS. All products do not use SVHC prescribed by REACH (201 substances, 16th July, 2019).
    • SF/R series & SFH/R series: For standard lead length type, add the suffix “0“ at the end of the part number. For long lead length type, add the suffix “1“ at the end of the part number.
    • SF/Y series: Part number indicates thermal links with standard lead lengths. For long lead length types, add the suffix “-1” at the end of the part number.
  2. Th is the maximum temperature measured on the thermal link when it continues to conduct a rated current without changing its state of conductivity for 168 hours.
  3. The electrical ratings according to the various safety standards are shown in the following table.

SEFUSE SF type Ratings

    • SF/R series: The following SF-types have passed the Conductive Heat Aging Test (CHAT) specified by the UL safety standard: SF184R*, SF188*, SF214*, SF229R*, and SF240R*.
    • SFH/R series: The following SF-types have passed the Conductive Heat Aging Test (CHAT) specified by the UL safety standard: SFH172R*.
    • SF/K series: The following SF-types have passed the Conductive Heat Aging Test (CHAT) specified by the UL safety standard: SF188K and SF214K.
    • SF/R series: With respect to the PSE standard, SF/R is separately available for 10 A and 15 A ratings. Please select the appropriate product rating according to the specifications of the final application.
    • SFH/R series: With respect to the PSE standard, SFH/R is separately available for 10 A and 15 A ratings. Please select the appropriate product rating according to the specifications of the final application.
  1. In case of requests for 10 A rated current thermal links, please add “J1” after the part number (name). i.e. SF***R0 J1, SFH***R0 J1
  2. The following electrical ratings were used for the UL, VDE, and KTL safety standards: 10 A (Resistive)/AC 250V.
  3. Pending approval.
