While other fire-rated glass-ceramics possess a distracting amber tint, PYRAN® Platinum is colorless and highly transparent. This neutral, clear quality makes it an attractive option for designers seeking safety glazing that blends naturally with the colors and architecture of the building.

PYRAN® Platinum is available as a monolithic fire-rated glass-ceramic, as well as the laminated PYRAN® Platinum L and filmed PYRAN® Platinum F. Designed for use in doors and windows with a high risk of impact, the laminated and filmed variants offer high impact resistance alongside protection from fire, hot gases and smoke.

PYRAN® Platinum offers a compelling combination of high resistance to heat and thermal shock, alongside a clear, colorless appearance and smooth surface. Offering fire protection for up to 90 minutes in windows and 180 minutes in doors, the glass-ceramic also remains clear under intense thermal loads, giving a building’s occupants essential vision and time to exit a building in an emergency. PYRAN® Platinum is also environmentally friendly, produced without the hazardous heavy metals antimony or arsenic.

SCHOTT Technical Glass Solutions GmbH is certified according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001. All types of SCHOTT fire-resistant glass is CE-certified and classified in accordance with EN 13501-2. PYRAN® Platinum is classified and labeled by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.® and Underwriters Laboratories of Canada. Fire windows are tested according to NFPA 257 or UL 9, while fire doors are tested according to NFPA 252, UL 10B or UL 10C. For fire windows installed in areas subject to human impact, PYRAN® Platinum F and PYRAN® Platinum L meet CPSC 16 CFR 1201 impact requirements. All fire windows and doors are installed according to NFPA 80.
