Product Variants of SCHOTT® Solar Glass
SCHOTT® Solar Glass 0787
CHARACTERISTICS
Manufactured using SCHOTT’s proprietary down-draw process, SCHOTT® Solar Glass 0787 features an ultra-flat fire-polished surface on both sides. Standard thicknesses range between 0.075 mm and 0.15 mm, but can be as low as 0.03 mm and as high as 1.0 mm. The glass can be toughened for enhanced strength and is cerium-doped to minimize solarization and preserve transmittance after prolonged UV and charged particle exposure.
YOUR ADVANTAGES
- Acts as a barrier layer, protecting solar cells against damage in high-radiation environments.
- Provides high transmittance in the VIS and NIR spectral range with stable long-term performance.
- Available as sheets or cut-to-size substrates tailored to customer designs.
- Certified according to ECSS-E-ST-20-08C and compliant with RoHS and REACH directives.
SCHOTT® Solar Glass sphere
CHARACTERISTICS
SCHOTT® Solar Glass sphere offers an ultra-flat, fire-polished surface with excellent geometric homogeneity and minimal roughness. Standard thicknesses range from 0.03 mm to 0.15 mm, with formats up to 1.0 mm available on request. Its stable oxide composition maintains transparency over decades of exposure while limiting UV transmittance to protect adhesives and coatings.
YOUR ADVANTAGES
- Ultra-thin formats down to 0.03 mm for lightweight system integration.
- Extra large formats on request.
- Maintains high transmittance with minimal UV impact across long lifetimes.
- Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) product with short lead times for high volumes.
SCHOTT® Solar Glass exos
CHARACTERISTICS
