SCHOTT Termofrost® Inmotion: The perfect move to improve your energy performance

The SCHOTT Termofrost® Inmotion chiller glass door system goes beyond the ordinary. It creates a connection between technology and aesthetics that exceeds market demands as well as customer expectations.

Developed by SCHOTT using the latest technology and expertise, this advanced refrigeration door system introduces bold innovations that improve the customer experience. It offers key benefits such as high energy efficiency, easy usability, and lower total cost of ownership.

This is not just a product, it’s a game-changer in the commercial refrigeration market.

Your top three benefits

Improved energy efficiency
SCHOTT Termofrost® Inmotion offers reduced energy consumption thanks to an innovative compression sealing lip on the hinge side that provides a near-hermetic seal to reduce air leakage.

SCHOTT’s unique hinge system enables smaller gaps that allow for wider doors, adding up to a larger insulated surface. This all results in 10 % less energy consumption with Inmotion compared to conventional solutions with sealing lips, and 35 % less energy consumption compared to conventional solution without sealing lips.

Superior usability
Installation time and maintenance costs are both reduced with the SCHOTT Termofrost® Inmotion door system. The adjustable hinge system enables the upper hinge to operate on the x, y, and z axes. This makes installation and troubleshooting quicker and simpler as the hinge adapts to your specific needs.

The soft-closing function enhances customer comfort and reduces the pressure on the system for a long service life. The door system also features a hold-open function, which provides effortless refilling for efficient stock management, as well as a self-protection of the system against collision.

Excellent design and visibility
The innovative hinge system of the SCHOTT Termofrost® Inmotion results in smaller gaps between the doors and cabinet, which increases the display area and leads to improved product visibility. Alongside new slim spacers that are just 7 mm wide and the elimination of plastic brackets, there are several design options to enable uniform design.

Reduced energy consumption

SCHOTT Termofrost® Inmotion makes a significant difference in the daily energy consumption of the refrigeration system. In tests*, the new fully sealed Termofrost® Inmotion achieved a 35 % reduction in refrigeration energy consumption (REC) compared to conventional door systems without sealing lips, and a 10 % reduction compared to fully sealed conventional door systems.

*The measurement was conducted on a 2.5-meter-long cabinet with 4 doors (2-opening), classified under temperature class M2. The test took place in a climatic chamber with climatic class CC3. The conventional door system with sealing lips used for comparison was SCHOTT Termofrost® Smart Look, also installed in a 2.5-meter-long cabinet with 4 doors (2-opening) and fully sealed.

The benefits of innovation

Highly adjustable and easy to install

Developed by SCHOTT, the revolutionary hinge system is adjustable in three different directions, which not only makes installation and troubleshooting simple, but provides an all-glass look with wider doors, enhancing the overall aesthetic of the cabinet. Smaller gaps and slim spacers also result in less distorted area, improving product visibility.

Safety features for long service life and customer comfort

SCHOTT’s unique hinge design incorporates a number of safety features for maximum protection. The 95° door-stop mechanism prevents the door from collisions. Additional innovative safety features include a near-linear edge track and a fail-safe system that keeps the doors securely in place, even if the main safety screw is damaged. The self- and soft-closing door mechanism ensures a high level of comfort for customers while the hold-open function enables shelves to be filled easily.

New slim spacers for improved visibility

The SCHOTT Termofrost® Inmotion glass door system for chillers features new slim spacers, which are just 7mm wide (industry standard is 10mm). This makes the doors wider, which improves visibility of the products inside. As a result, it enhances the customer experience and potentially boosting sales.

Excellent energy savings

The hinge-side compression sealing lip provides a near-hermetic seal, greatly reducing air leakage and boosting energy efficiency. SCHOTT Termofrost® Inmotion consume around 35 % less electricity than doors without sealing lips, and 10 % less than conventional solutions with sealing lips. Smaller gaps between the doors and cabinet improve this efficiency further thanks to a reduction in air flow from the cabinet.
