Product Variants of PURAVIS®

There are two variants of PURAVIS® glass optical fibers: flexible and rigid. Flexible fibers offer high flexibility for increased versatility, while rigid fibers provide strength and control. Both flexible and rigid fibers display strong light transmission, as well as high chemical and temperature resistance.
Flexible PURAVIS® fibers

Flexible PURAVIS® fibers

The flexible variant of PURAVIS® glass optical fibers has a broad range of uses, their high strength and flexibility, plus temperature and chemical resistance making them ideal for harsh industrial situations. Available with large aperture angles of 70°, 85° and 120°, the high purity fibers are also compatible with the full range of SCHOTT light sources.

CHARACTERISTICS

As PURAVIS® is a step-index multimode fiber, it transmits all light in the visible spectrum, as well as a large range of near-UV and near-IR wavelengths. The high purity optical glass core also offers low attenuation and high refractive indices, while the fiber is manufactured without the use of lead, arsenic or antimony.

YOUR ADVANTAGES

  • Excellent transmission of light and color rendering.
  • Superior recognition of illuminated objects such as body tissue.
  • Chemical and mechanical stability for long-term use.
  • RoHS-compliant, biocompatible and sustainable.
  • Large Field of View.
Rigid PURAVIS® fibers

Rigid PURAVIS® fibers

High performance glass rods made of PURAVIS® glass optical fibers offer a robust and hygienic lighting solution for dentistry, endoscopy, and sensor technology, as well as fluorescence-based applications in medical diagnostics. Available as single- or multi-core rods, they offer impressive versatility, as well as high mechanical strength and chemical resilience.

CHARACTERISTICS

As a proprietary SCHOTT product, the eco-friendly rigid PURAVIS® fibers feature enhanced break resistance for improved safety and increased lifetime. Whether straight, 3D-shaped, double-tapered, multi-bent or a combination of a variety of shapes, SCHOTT can help you create individual light guides based on your specific requirements.

YOUR ADVANTAGES

  • Customized designs for individual needs.
  • Safe installation and a long lifetime.
  • RoHS-compliant, biocompatible and sustainable.
  • Temperature-resistant and autoclavable.
  • Chemically resistant so safe for medical procedures.
  • Produced without the use of lead, arsenic or antimony.
