Product Variants of Pharmaceutical Type I Glass Tubing
With their low alkali content, chemical resistance, and optional UV protection, the various forms of FIOLAX® and BORO-8330™ glass provide a very low risk of drug-container interaction. Along with DENSOCAN® and DENSOPACK® transit protection, we offer all-round packaging solutions for the medical professional.
FIOLAX® Pro – The glass of the future
Starting in the beginning of 2027, the FIOLAX® Pro OCF product line will be manufactured in Germany using the first electric melting tank powered by 100% green electricity. This will reduce the CO₂e footprint (Product Carbon Footprint, PCF) for these tubes by 50%*.
To ensure a high level of reliability and transparency, the PCF value and the guideline for its calculation are certified by the external, accredited institute GUTcert.

PROPERTIES
FIOLAX® Pro and the FIOLAX® Pro OCF product line have the same glass composition, have an improved extractables profile, are free of heavy metals and, like all glasses in the FIOLAX® family, have excellent hydrolytic resistance. This makes it ideal for future requirements, especially in the use of prefilled syringes and cartridges for biotechnologically produced pharmaceuticals and for vial and ampoules applications.

This high-quality Type I borosilicate glass boasts an outstanding chemical and hydrolytic resistance, impermeability, and neutrality. These properties protect the contents from premature aging and loss of effectiveness. FIOLAX® clear is a secure packaging medium for injectable solutions and biotech products.

FIOLAX® amber
CHARACTERISTICS
FIOLAX® amber is a colored glass with a proven track record for securing the long-term stability of light-sensitive drugs. The stable composition of this Type I glass ensures a consistent amber color and therefore light protection, which is created by the addition of iron and titanium oxide. As with FIOLAX® Pro and clear, FIOLAX® amber possesses outstanding material quality with narrow tolerances, resulting in smooth machine operation and superior product quality.

BORO-8330™
CHARACTERISTICS
Like FIOLAX® Pro, clear and amber, BORO-8330™ glass has a consistent composition. In contrast to the other Type I glasses, it is free of alkaline earth metals and has minimum aluminum content. As a Type I Class A glass, it is fully compliant with international regulatory standards, and especially popular for vials and ampoules in the United States.
