SCHOTT Welcomes Louisville Delegation in Mainz for 30th Anniversary of Sister City Relationship

- Delegates from Louisville, Kentucky toured SCHOTT’s corporate headquarters in Mainz, Germany, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Sister City relationship
- For decades, both cities have been production sites for innovative products including SCHOTT CERAN® glass-ceramic cooktop panels
- Travelers welcomed by SCHOTT CFO Marcus Knöbel and toured facility together
- Excursion led by the World Affairs Council of Kentucky & Southern Indiana
The delegation consisted of 15 representatives from Louisville, one of SCHOTT's Home Tech business units in the U.S. Their visit to Mainz underscores the importance of the U.S. market to SCHOTT's global operations and the vital role played by the Louisville facility in the company's success. Since 1994, the Louisville facility has been supplying the U.S. market with its innovative products including CERAN® glass-ceramic cooktops found in modern kitchens, ROBAX® glass-ceramic panels that protect fireplaces and wood stoves, and PYRAN® fire resistant glass found in commercial buildings.

On Sept. 11, the contingent visited SCHOTT’s headquarters for a welcome presentation and a tour of the ROBAX® showroom and CERAN® production facility. SCHOTT CFO Marcus Knöbel greeted the travelers and guided them through the award-winning World of SCHOTT exhibit.
In addition to commemorating the longstanding sister city relationship between Louisville and Mainz, the trip reinforces the strong bonds within SCHOTT's international network. As SCHOTT continues to lead in specialty glass and glass-ceramic technologies, the collaboration between its U.S. and German operations remains a key driver of its global success.
