Exploring the fascination of glass
"Let´s get fascinated by specialty glass" - this is the invitation of the SCHOTT technology group at glasstec from October 23 to 26 in Düsseldorf.
The company will present its diverse materials in a 100 square meter booth (Hall 11, Booth A20): Innovations and products will be presented in six extraordinary areas under the motto "Fascination", each group named based on their similar qualities.
“Fascinating resistant" glass-ceramics; CERAN® cooktop panels, ROBAX® fire viewing panels, BOROFLOAT®, PYRAN® fire-resistant glazing, architectural glass (CONTURAN® IR protect) and radiation shielding glass, for example, are temperature-resistant, robust, scratch-resistant, safe from flames or pressure, protect from heat or X-rays.
Ultra-thin glasses for the semiconductor and display industry, DURAN® tubes with a unique 460-millimeter outer diameter, packaging technologies for data transmission, glass powder for fuel cells, mini LEDs or ZERODUR® glass-ceramic mirror segments for the Extremely Large Telescope (ELT) all master extreme conditions and rightfully named, “Fascinating extreme.”
Another product presentation, “Fascinating flexible,” represents the theme “flexible glasses” featuring fiber-optic sidelights for automotive lighting, structured FLEXINITYTM wafers as well as light guides and optical fibers for medical technology and microscopy. Various architectural glasses, flat glasses, glass tubing, NEXTREMA® interior design solutions, as well as LuminaLine glass composite light guides provides a “Fascinating aesthetic.” This group already captivated design jurors with their combination of light and transparency, winning both the German Innovation Award 2018 and the Red Dot: Best of the Best Award 2018 even before their market launch.
The “Fascination functional” presentation group includes NEXTREMA® glass-ceramics and various special glass solutions such as tubing, electronic packaging components, flat glass, and BOROFLOAT®, each material opens up endless innovative functionalities. For example, photobioreactors, battery covers and lid systems for e-mobility, smart control of home appliances, and much more. Lastly, SCHOTT uses virtual reality technology to take you on realistic tours through the "World of SCHOTT" product exhibition or the future Extremely Large Telescope (ELT) to demonstrate the “Fascinating real” group.
Visit the SCHOTT booth to experience these presentations, to learn more about the properties of specialty glass from SCHOTT experts, and to be inspired and fascinated by the material glass.
SCHOTT is also participating in special glasstec shows: "glass technology live" (Hall 11) with SCHOTT Automotive, SCHOTT Flexinity™, SCHOTT RealView™ and SCHOTT NEXTREMA® as well as the “BIV Glaserhandwerk” in Hall 9 - here with ultra-thin glass and SCHOTT® Smart Touch will be featured.
