Etihad Engineering, SCHOTT, jetlite, and Lufthansa Technik to cooperate on Human-Centric Lighting development
Reducing jet lag and other symptoms of multi-timezone flights to increase passenger well-being

Today at Dubai Air Show, SCHOTT, jetlite, Etihad Engineering and Lufthansa Technik have signed a ceremonial letter expressing co-operation in further exploring and promoting a new “Human-centric Lighting” technology and bringing it to the market. The collaboration aims at combining SCHOTT’s expertise in cabin lighting systems, jetlite’s holistic and scientifically-proven solution for jetlag reduction, Etihad Engineering’s and Lufthansa Technik’s expertise for aircraft systems integration, design certification, and innovation capabilities. The result is an effective system for automated cabin lighting scenarios that will positively affect air travelers’ well-being on multi-timezone flights by reducing jet lag and headaches, and enabling higher concentration and energy levels.

SCHOTT Illuminates Single-Use Endoscopes with New and Easy-to-Handle Product Line
The SCHOTT® SingleEZ Guide plug-and-play illumination solution for single-use endoscopes is the first member of a new modular product family based on fiber optics.

Fiber optic lighting specialist SCHOTT has developed the SCHOTT® SingleEZ Guide illumination solution, a plug-and-play light guide that allows easy and fast installation into a complete system. Thanks to the space-saving integration of flexible glass fibers, the illumination product delivers the maximum amount of light to the exact spot needed. The new solution also reduces heat transmission to enable easier registration with regulatory authorities. The development marks SCHOTT’s first entrance into the single-use endoscope market. SCHOTT will present its innovations for single-use endoscopes at the medical device trade show COMPAMED, November 18–21, 2019 in Dusseldorf, Germany (Hall 8b, Stand H08).

More light: SCHOTT to present the latest innovations in light for use in dental technology
At the International Dental Show IDS in Cologne from March 12 – 16, 2019 (booth 11.3 B 081), the international technology group SCHOTT will be unveiling its latest developments in dental technology. These include a new, fully customizable generation of autoclavable Solidur® LEDs for illuminating instruments that previously never had an integrated light source, as well as a novel manufacturing process that enables the production of fiber optic glass rods in extreme geometries for the latest generation of dental curing devices.
