Perfect for setting every mood

During boarding, the lighting makes the cabin appear more attractive and larger. With the help of diverse lighting scenarios, a passenger’s natural circadian rhythm can be created. It makes it easier to fall asleep or wake up and helps to ensure the passenger has had a more pleasant flight experience. LED technology is what makes this cutting-edge lighting system possible.

Consistent lighting performance onboard

LED lighting has many advantages over other technologies. However, it is not a perfect solution: age and other factors, such as temperature fluctuations and operational intensity, can affect its colors and light intensity. If not regulated, the unavoidable LED effects can lead to an erratic, diverging color display and appearance, resulting in unwanted design and security aspects as well as maintenance costs.

SCHOTT meticulously analyzed LED technologies and came up with an innovative solution: HelioJet® SpectrumCC with a unique sensor system controls and stabilizes the intrinsic weaknesses of LEDs. It has been used for years in modern airplane cabins.

The solution also made a huge impression with the jury at the German Innovation Awards recognizing HelioJet® SpectrumCC for its innovation with the Gold Award 2018:

“This LED lighting system, which was specially developed for aircraft cabins, provides maximum homogeneous lighting and color stability for a broad range of lighting scenarios, including exact brand colors. This groundbreaking system also uses considerably fewer LEDs, thus cutting costs.”

Roughly 16 million color shades are generated by each LED.

A sensor within every LED unit controls the color quality and regulates the defined value. The result: a long-term, uniform option for the entire lighting system.
