100 million fire viewing panels in nearly 40 years
SCHOTT will be exhibiting coated ROBAX® IR Max fire viewing panels and has news to share on its opaque printing color “opaque black” at the Progetto Fuoco trade fair in Verona, Italy. New bending radii will also be presented for the first time.
The word “experience” will be the only way to describe the SCHOTT ROBAX® brand at the international Progetto Fuoco trade fair in Verona, Italy, from February 21-25, 2018 (Hall 9, Booth E22). Because that’s exactly what the innovative developments for the glass-ceramic fire viewing panels provide. ROBAX® IR Max reflects heat radiation back into the combustion chamber of the fireplace, countering overheating in the space around it. The printing color “opaque black”, now available for all curved panels, expands design possibilities. Even larger bending radii for angular bent fire viewing panels also offer ever better views of the fire. 100 million panels have been sold worldwide – evidence of the brand’s experience, product and service quality.
Mainz, Germany – February 19, 2018 – The motto “SCHOTT ROBAX® IN FRONT EXPERIENCE” promises to turn SCHOTT’s trade fair booth into a blazing visual experience over nearly 100 square meters. The international technology group has developed an effective coating for its viewing panels that offers the “fireplace adventure” a permanent sense of well-being: ROBAX® IR Max reflects infrared radiation back into the fireplace – up to two times more than the previous product and up to seven times more than non-coated glass-ceramic. Heat radiation to its surroundings is significantly reduced as a result, avoiding overheating and offering more pleasant warmth to the living room. The coating retains its effectiveness over the long term, with increased temperatures in the fireplace promoting more efficient combustion and fewer emissions and soot deposits on the viewing panel. The energy gains can also be stored or used to heat water-bearing components – lowering heating costs. Stove and fireplace manufacturers benefit from increased design freedom thanks to lower wall temperatures.
Printing color “opaque black” also for curved panels
The printing color “opaque black” for ROBAX® fire viewing panels is now available on both flat and curved panels. “Opaque black” elegantly conceals hinges, support elements and adhesives. The color complements “pure black” and “mystic black” and is more opaque than any other black printing color from the ROBAX® range. This grants fireplace manufacturers more design options for differentiating their products.
Large bending radii for curved 3D panels
SCHOTT will also be bringing along five ROBAX® panels with various bending radii for an optimized 3D view of fire. Besides the previous radii of 9 and 50 mm, the product range has now been extended by radii of 30, 70 and 95 mm. This gives angular bent one-piece viewing panel enthusiasts even more alternatives for the best, unobstructed view of fire through the bending edge as well. This satisfies increasing demand for products like this. In a representative survey in Germany commissioned by SCHOTT in 2014, 44 percent of prospective buyers preferred one-piece angular bent panels, stating their willingness to pay more for them.
Making the trade fair visit an experience
So there’s a good reason to have the SCHOTT ROBAX® experience at the center of the company’s trade fair appearance. Visitors to the SCHOTT booth will be able to interact in a variety of ways – for instance, by looking through virtual reality glasses, through a special peephole in an exhibition booth wall, in an e-book or at staged exhibits. “It’s more than just sitting by the fireplace that’s cozy, but also our product and service quality from customer service to tailor-made logistics with short delivery times and application consulting,” says Isabel Eymael, Marketing Manager for SCHOTT ROBAX®. “We support our customers globally with nearly 40 years of expertise, helping to save development costs.” We’ve been successful since 1979, with around 100 million ROBAX® fire viewing panels distributed all over the world.
