SCHOTT Brazil invests in health, safety and welfare of its employees, in approaching the community and in the preservation of the environment

Every year, Vitrofarma Division promotes social activities in its unit located in Rio de Janeiro (RJ)
SCHOTT Brazil has a calendar of social activities including health programs, safety, welfare, activities with the community and environmental protection. "This concern for health, safety and welfare is a practice promoted for many years, and is aligned with our headquarters. Our concern for the environment also has a long history, as well as the approach of working with the community", said Marcelo Cavagnero, HR and Management Head of Vitrofarma Division, located in the city of Rio de Janeiro.

The actions developed in the last fiscal year include:

Health Day – "Handling Stress" was the theme of the latest edition of Health Day, held on 23 September last year. The event sought to draw the attention of employees on the subject. It was also a day to invite professionals to take a short break in the routine and participate in activities that promote relaxation, as pilates class, massages, games and a magic show. The objective was to motivate reflections on simple ways to promote well-being in everyday life and, thus, relieve tensions.

"Health and Wellness" Program – Thinking of alternatives to support their employees and their dependents to overcome familiy, financial, legal and psychological difficulties, among others, SCHOTT now offers a new evaluation, referral and counseling service carried out by a company specializing in psychosocial care. The initiative is an important step towards improving the quality of life and, consequently, to an increasingly productive and motivating work environment.

"Running for Everybody" Project – More integration and quality of life. The practice of sports is one of the main requirements to keep body and mind healthy. In order to encourage this habit among employees and to improve the quality of life, SCHOTT has developed some actions, such as the "Running for Everybody" Project, which in its release has mobilized a large number of employees.

Environment – Valuing the individual as a fundamental part of the solutions to environmental problems, often caused by human activities, it was one of the strategies adopted by the organization of Environment Week 2015. Theater, music, "Environmental Chef" contest, "Back to the Past" moment, environmental exposure, talent show, environmental health, eco tattoo and environmental survey were part of the activities held from July 6 to July 10 last year.

SIPAT – Held from November 9 to November 13, SIPAT (Internal Week of Occupational Accident Prevention) was organized with the aim of reinforcing key messages, with a preventive focus on security actions promoted by SCHOTT Brazil.
