Sales Manager – Western Region

SCHOTT Advanced Optics, with its deep technological expertise, is a valuable partner for its customers in developing products and customized solutions for applications in optics, lithography, astronomy, opto-electronics, architecture, life sciences, and research. With a product portfolio of more than 120 optical glasses, special materials and components, we master the value chain: from customized glass development to high-precision optical product finishing and metrology.

Your tasks

The purpose of the Sales Manager West is to generate revenue for SCHOTT's Advanced Optics division through the sale of SCHOTT's specialized products. SCHOTT is looking for a highly motivated sales professional to service and grow the Western region.

• Responsible for achieving and exceeding quota defined revenue targets.
• In partnership with Sales Director, define and map strategy to succeed in penetrating and maximizing revenue opportunities in the assigned channels.
• Achieves planned KPIs (turnover, GM) for all products sold domestically to the assigned region.
• Coordinate as necessary with internal SCHOTT support resources: Engineering, Operations, Marketing, etc. - in the development of the channel. 
• Track leads, prospects, customers, potential customer opportunities, and sales orders in SAP.
• Searches for new potential products and projects and generates new business opportunities.
• Carries out regular account planning (rolling up action plan with major milestones).
• Works with Marketing to participate in relevant fairs, trade shows, conferences, exhibitions, internal and external trainings to improve skills.
• Determine the most appropriate literature and advertising program for associated products and ensures successful dissemination of information.
• Carries out responsibilities in accordance with organization’s mission, vision, policies and applicable laws.

Your profile

• Bachelors degree in Optics, Electronics or related Engineering field.
• Strong business and sales acumen.
• 3-5 years in technical sales preferred.
• Successful track record in meeting and exceeding sales quota.
• Knowledge of optical materials and components, their properties and performance.
• Ability to work in an intercultural environment and effectively interact in cross-functional teams.
• Strong track record in presentation development and delivery.
• Experience in Optics and/or glass.
• Travel of at least 30-50% required.
• Capability of meeting U.S. government security requirements.
