Industrial Mechanic

Your tasks

The Industrial Mechanic will diagnose trouble, plan and perform repairs to batching, glass melting, glass forming, glass finishing, inspection, and warehouse equipment and the facility. The chosen candidate will also perform rigging, plumbing, welding, layout, sheet metal, preventative maintenance, equip. rebuilding/ assembly/testing, etc. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Works from drawings, ISO procedures, process flow diagrams, sketches, work orders, PM sheets, written and verbal instructions, etc.
  • Performs: rigging, plumbing, welding, cutting, layout, sheet metal, lubrication, preventative maintenance, cleaning, abrasive blasting, pressure washing, steam cleaning, equipment disassembly, rebuilding, assembly, painting, testing, and snow removal.
  • Operates: forklifts, overhead lifting equipment, man lifts, emergency generators, air compressors, and various hand and power tools.
  • Understands: pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, pumps, compressors, fans, cooling towers, exhaust systems, and waste treatment systems.
  • Operate and maintain waste treatment facilities as well as maintaining cooling towers and pollution control equipment.

Your profile

  • Knowledge of pneumatic & hydraulic systems, pumps, compressors, cooling towers, exhaust systems, and waste treatment systems required
  • Min. 3-5 year’s industrial/mechanical experience.  Previous electrical experience is a plus
  • Stick, MIG, TIG welding, oxygen/acetylene, and plasma cutting preferred
  • Starting rate: $23.01/hr + shift differential
  • Must be available to work rotating shifts.   Must be able to work 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts and weekends, as required
  • High School Diploma or GED required, trade school certificate, preferred
  • Must be able to work from drawings, sketches, work orders, etc. 
  • Previous experience operating forklifts, man lifts, and other material handling equipment
  • Knowledge of emergency generators and air compressors preferred
  • Must be capable of meeting U.S. Gov’t. Security requirements
