Material Resource Planner

SCHOTT Advanced Optics, with its deep technological expertise, is a valuable partner for its customers in developing products and customized solutions for applications in optics, lithography, astronomy, opto-electronics, architecture, life sciences, and research. With a product portfolio of more than 120 optical glasses, special materials and components, we master the value chain: from customized glass development to high-precision optical product finishing and metrology.

Your tasks

The Material Resource Planner is responsible for creating detailed processes to configure material to meet internal and external customer requirements. It will be their responsibility to review the completed process for accuracy, cost and posting of materials in inventory. Duties include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Reviews SAP system for open (new) material demands.
  • Schedules material and resources to meet customer (internal and external) requirements.
  • Creates detailed manufacturing routings and associated customer drawings to allow efficient and effective execution on by Operations group.
  • Monitors process status (start and completion), dates and reports non-conformances to appropriate department management for rescheduling and corrective action.
  • Reviews material, machine and other resources for more effective and efficient usage and recommends improvements.
  • Monitors manufacturing costs/processes, adjusting processes as needed to improve costs.
  • Assists with yearly standard article reviews, setting and monitoring of production machine capacities and creation of articles.
  • Synthesizes complex and diverse information; collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to complement data; designs work flows and procedures.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Develops and implements cost saving measures; conserves organizational resources.
  • Reports to Manager-Supply Chain.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Your profile

  • Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years experience in Production Planning.
  • Working knowledge of Business Management software, computer skills, excellent communication skills.
  • Full knowledge of Production Management systems; Inventory software; Manufacturing software; SAP Order processing systems; SAP MRP Transactions; MS Excel Spreadsheet software and MS Word Processing software.
  • SAP experience required.
  • The successful candidate must be capable of meeting U.S. government security requirements.
