Scholarship Heinrich J. Klein Foundation 2018 (f/m)

The objective of the H. J. Klein Foundation is to sponsor international exchange by granting scholarships to students (m/f) for a stay abroad. Dr. Heinrich J. Klein, a former Board Member of SCHOTT, and his wife Dr. Liesel Klein brought the foundation into being by contributing a considerable sum from their private funds. The application process is handled by SCHOTT AG.

For your application for a stay abroad within the period of July 2018 and June 2019 we need the following documents in the English language

  • Letter of motivation, incl. period of the stay abroad (1 page)
  • Curriculum Vitae/ Resume (1 page)
  • Transcript of records (current grades)
  • Description of how you personally have been supporting international exchange so far (1 page)
  • Overview of estimated costs, incl. indication of sources - only additional costs
  • Letter of recommendation by the responsible professor (with reference to the stay abroad)
  • Letter of confirmation of the university abroad (with reference to the stay abroad)
  • Written confirmation that you meet the funding requirements of the foundation in accordance with § 5 of the Charter of the Heinrich J. Klein Foundation, respectively that you are immediately are going to inform the Heinrich J. Klein Foundation, in case that you will receive another commitment or offer of payment (1 page)

Support is granted to students (m/f) of all specialist fields for a temporary, scientifically qualified stay abroad and have shown proven commitment/involvement in fostering international exchange - for example:

  • Participation in scientific projects
  • Study visits
  • Summer school

Your profile

  • Good academic results (above average)
  • Commitment to international exchange
  • Engagement outside school, studies or job
  • Communicative character
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Open-minded and outgoing
  • Internationally mobile
  • Fluent English skills

Your benefits

Support is to be granted preferably to students (m/f) who can be expected to give their support in turn, i.e. to cooperate in science on an international level in the sense of the goals defined by the foundation. The support is to be provided by awarding scholarships to finance temporary stays abroad (max. 1 year) as long as these are not being funded publicly or privately by other sources.
