Application

For students, recent university graduates and experienced professionals

As long as a job ad is visible in our Job Board, you can apply for the respective position. Job ads for which we don’t accept any more applicants get deactivated.
Yes, an application at SCHOTT should be submitted online. Please always use our online application portal for this.

Registering in our online application portal is a precondition for successfully applying for a job. After clicking on the “Apply Now” button in the job ad, you’ll get to a login page of our job portal where your first step is to register with your email address and a personal password. After your successful registration, you may directly complete your applicant profile and upload documents.

In case you encounter any problems in creating your account, please contact us.
Have you already prepared your documents? Then the application should take only about 20 minutes – depending on your Internet connection. After receipt of your application, a receipt confirmation will be sent to your email address. Our high security standards make sure that nothing gets lost and that no outsider can read your information.
 
Of course. After receiving your online application, we will send you a receipt email to your email address. With your access data for “My SCHOTT” and the link contained in the email, you can check the status of your application and fine-tune your profile at any time.

We strongly encourage you to apply online. Should an online application not be possible for some well-founded reason, some locations also accept applications by postal mail. In this case please contact us and ask ahead of time whether such a possibility exists.

Please note that we are unable to return any applications on paper, nor any application folders.
You may check your application status in your SCHOTT applicant profile. You just have to login to your applicant profile first.

Alternatively, you can call your respective HR contact and ask them about the status of your application. Please find the contact data of the respective colleagues in the job ad relevant for you.
After carefully checking your application, we will try to get back to you promptly, telling you whether your profile fits the vacant position. If your profile looks right, we’ll invite you to a job interview. This will take place either in person or digitally. We ask for your understanding that processing and response times may vary.
Yes, as long as there is an “unsolicited application” ad for the respective location posted on the SCHOTT Job Board.
We regularly post new positions. Feel free to regularly check our Job Board for new appropriate open positions. If you’d like to be informed by email about new positions posted in the job board, then enter your contact details / email address at the job portal in the “Job Abo” section.
Definitely. In many functions, we offer career change options for specialists and will qualify you for your new area of work, e.g. in one of our production facilities.
The maximum size for enclosed files is 5 MB per document. Please use the PDF format whenever possible since it tends to reduce file size. Tip: please choose short file names.
Each job ad will cite an individual SCHOTT HR contact who will be happy to support you. Alternatively contact us via our contact form or send a Direct Message on our global Instagram career channel @schott_career.

International Graduate Program

For recent university graduates interested in our Graduate Program

Please check our graduate position vacancies on the SCHOTT Job Board and apply online.
The recruitment could start at any time.
English.
The cover letter, your CV, transcripts of your university diploma and other related working experience documents, as well as an international experience report (optional).
The program starts every two months, i.e. on 1 December, 1 February, 1 April, 1 June, 1 August, and 1 October.
The program duration is between 18 and 24months.
Once you’ve passed your interview, you will be invited to the Assessment Center, which takes place in our Mainz headquarters (currently only online). After you pass the Assessment Center, you will be hired as a Graduate.
The in-person Assessment Center takes one day. The virtual Assessment Center takes four hours. In this process, your presentation skills, analytical skills, and interpersonal skills will be assessed. You will receive detailed instructions about the exercises.
No, you don’t need to speak German to be eligible for the Graduate Program. The only mandatory language is English.
It depends on which areas you are hired for as a graduate. All SCHOTT sites worldwide could be possible. It has to be aligned between you and your manager.
Three months before the program ends, you will have a development conversation with HR and your manager to talk about your future fixed position.
