Sensing your vision
50 years on the moon
Neil Armstrong left the moon 50 years ago after two and a half hours. The cameras with the optical glasses from SCHOTT that were responsible for the spectacular images of that time are probably still there today. Instead of photo and film cameras, the astronauts took moon rocks back to Earth. However, Armstrong (left) did not have to deal without optical glass from SCHOTT for long: During his visit to Germany in 1970, he got the same glass as a memento.
Driving without drivers
LiDAR sensors are the most innovative technologies for autonomous driving. The better the materials and the expertise in LiDAR components, the better the future performance of the sensors will be. SCHOTT offers both: a broad portfolio of glass and hermetic packaging products to improve LiDAR technologies and a deep understanding of both industry and customer needs and goals.
