HF (Hydrofluoric Acid) Scavenging Glass

The HF-absorbing glass is sold under glass code G018-405. It is melted as standard under permanent control of physical and chemical properties. Further processing into a homogeneous powder with a defined particle size distribution is based on decades of experience in a specialized process. This creates a high quality product with reproducible properties.

The degradation of the cell by HF, which manifests itself in premature capacity loss and gas formation, is permanently prevented. Particularly sensitive new electrode materials with high energy densities can therefore be made possible in next-generation battery cells.

Temperature-stable and low abrasion

The glass is sufficiently temperature stable to be used in the field of ceramic coating to increase safety. Here, it's also characterized by a lower abrasiveness than common ceramic materials. As a result, metal particles from the production process can be avoided.

Chemically and electrochemically stable

The HF glass is stable in standard conducting salts and standard salts. In addition, it's electrochemically stable in a wide voltage window, both in low- and high-voltage situations.

Optimum production methods

This HF-absorbent glass undergoes a closely monitored two-stage production process to ensure optimum results. First the raw glass is melted in specially designed aggregates before being ground into fine powders of different grain sizes.
