Light Installation at the Bauhaus Museum in Weimar
100 years of Bauhaus staged with light
To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the "Staatliches Bauhaus", the ceremonial opening of the new Bauhaus Museum will take place in Weimar, in April. During this time, the city of Weimar invites you to celebrate the founding of the Bauhaus 100 years ago with a ceremony from 1st to 7st April.
At the beginning of April, the world looks to Weimar. "Without light there is no art". This short sentence by the famous Bauhaus master László Moholy-Nagy shows the importance of the medium at the Bauhaus. For him, art only acquires meaning if it reflects light. Artificial light was perceived as the material and tool of the future. The kinetic light installation "RAUM" gives this special anniversary and the historical epoch in which the Bauhaus was active an artistic form. In the evening hours it connects the venues with each other through a moving play of light and shadow.
