SCHOTT presents its glass products for museums at Exponatec

Recently introduced MIROGARD® products at the center of attention
The specialty glass expert SCHOTT will be presenting its range of products for use by museums, art galleries and exhibitions at Exponatec in Cologne, Germany, from November 18 – 20, 2015 (SCHOTT Booth 3.2 B 059). The focus will be on the enhancements to the MIROGARD® product family, “Protect Ultra” and “DARO,” as well as on anti-reflective AMIRAN® display case glass and semi-transparent MIRONA® mirrored glass. In addition, SCHOTT Sales Manager Ulrich Huber will be giving a presentation entitled “Normal glass was yesterday ...” on all three event days.

The picture glazing glass MIROGARD® Protect Ultra that SCHOTT introduced in mid-2015 scores points with its incredible stability, its very light weight of 6.5 kg/m² and its minimum thickness of only 2.95 mm. This shatterproof laminated glass thus protects artworks in museums and galleries from splinters and transport damage. In addition, MIROGARD® Protect Ultra also offers 99.9% reliable protection against UV rays and has a high-quality anti-reflective coating.
With the product version MIROGARD® DARO (Durable Anti-Reflective and Oleophobic) that was presented only this September, the oleophobic, fat-repellent coating allows for fingerprints, water stains and dirt to be wiped away easily using a soft, damp cloth. The DARO coating is also available on MIROGARD® Protect Ultra.

Furthermore, SCHOTT will also be presenting its well-known glazing solutions AMIRAN® and MIRONA® at the exhibition. The highly light-transmissive AMIRAN® display case glass is known for its anti-reflective coating that reduces residual reflections to 1%. The semi-transparent MIRONA® mirrored glass can also be used as a mirror or as a transparent element. When it is dark behind the glass, MIRONA® presents itself as an attractive mirror. When the light is turned back on, it transforms itself into a transparent window – a surprising phenomenon that allows for objects to be displayed in a clever manner.
