BLACK ROCK sells ultra-thin smartphone glass screen protectors

The ultra-thin glass SCHOTT AS 87 eco has found its way into retail. Starting now, customers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland can reliably protect their smartphones from scratches and display damage. The best part about it? The packaging bears the SCHOTT brand logo and advertises premium quality across mobile phone accessory sections with the “Made in Germany” slogan.

This has been made possible by a co-branding agreement between SCHOTT and BLACK ROCK. Stationary sales are taking place through MediaMarkt and Saturn.
The ultra-thin glass is being produced at SCHOTT’s Gruenenplan site in thicknesses of 0.1 – 0.3 millimeters (0,004 – 0,01 inches), and in a following step cut and chemically toughened by partners in Asia. BLACK ROCK is marketing the glass as a premium product under the product line “X-TREME”.

BLACK ROCK is a renowned manufacturer of smartphone accessories and part of the HAMA group. The screen protector is available for a variety of smartphone models, including the top models from Samsung and Apple. It is also available for smartphones with rounded edges, such as the Samsung Galaxy S8 or the Galaxy S7 Edge. The suggested retail price is around 25 Euro.
