Quality management and quality assurance/accreditation

SCHOTT operates a global, centralized management system which incorporates requirements from ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 14001 for environmental management, ISO 50001 for energy management as well as SCHOTT’s own rules and standards for its environmental, health and safety system in accordance with OHSAS 18001. These ensure adherence to environmental directives and regulations such as RoHS II and REACH, and guarantees high standards of quality.

In this regard, the Advanced Optics business area of SCHOTT AG in Mainz has been certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2009 and DIN EN ISO 14001:2009 by the testing, inspection and certification company Bureau Veritas Certification Germany GmbH, Hamburg.

To ensure high standards of quality for SCHOTT products, the Advanced Optics laboratories must satisfy the
most stringent metrological requirements. In this regard, SCHOTT’s metrological methods undergo regular accreditation by the German national accreditation body DAKKS according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and our personnel are qualified accordingly.

In cooperation with
PTB – the National Metrology Institute of Germany, one of the world’s leading metrology institutes, round robin tests are also carried out regularly. Such independent testing of our procedures provides transparency, dependability and trust at the highest of technological levels.
