Volumetric

DURAN® Volumetric flasks, which are used to measure specific liquid volumes accurately, are indispensable aids to quantitative analysis. The chemist uses them principally in the preparation and storage of standard solutions. DURAN® volumetric flasks are made of the chemically resistant borosilicate glass 3.3 manufactured by SCHOTT.

DURAN® Measuring and Mixing Cylinders are made of borosilicate 3.3 glass and are therefore very resistant both to mechanical stresses and thermal shock.



Measuring cylinders serve simultaneously to receive and measure different amounts of liquid. Mixing cylinders are used when diluting solutions or when mixing a number of components in pre-determined volume ratios.

Cylinders have large hexagonal bases to increase stability and prevent the cylinder rolling when in a horizontal position. The uniform wall thickness and dimensional control of the DURAN® tubing used to make cylinders removes the possibility of graduation errors as a result of taper. All graduated cylinders are calibrated to contain ("In") at the reference temperature of 20°C. Accuracy limits have been fixed according to DIN 12680, DIN 12685 and ISO 4788.

DURAN® burettes are used exclusively for titration. The unknown volume of liquid required in the titration can be read off accurately when the reaction end point has been achieved. DURAN® burettes are made of the chemically resistant borosilicate glass 3.3 by SCHOTT. They are calibrated to deliver (Ex) at the reference temperature of 20°C.

AR-GLAS® Graduated and bulb Pipettes are used for accurate measurement and transfer of liquids. Bulb pipettes will only deliver specific quantities. Graduated pipettes allow take-up of different liquid volumes and delivery of the same or different quantities.
