SCHOTT and Xinkang agree on joint venture in China
Mainz, November 17, 2011 – This week, German technology group SCHOTT and the Chinese company Zhejiang Xinkang Pharmaceutical Glass Co., Ltd. signed an agreement to establish a pharmaceutical packaging joint venture in China. SCHOTT will own the majority of shares of the new company that will supply the fast-growing Chinese pharmaceutical market with high-quality pharmaceutical packaging products made of glass. The closing of the joint venture is subject to customary closing conditions. More

SCHOTT at PDA Europe: new test method for delamination
Basel/Mainz, November 8, 2011– At the 2011 PDA Universe of Pre-filled Syringes and Injection Devices in Basel, SCHOTT Pharmaceutical Systems today announced that it has developed a new test method for the field of delamination that allows for a quick routine control of the delamination tendency of tubular glass vials. In the course of the conference, which will take place from 7 to 11 November 2011, experts from SCHOTT will actively contribute to the program with presentations on different glass-related topics and packaging solutions for injectable drugs. SCHOTT expects growth to continue in fiscal 2011
Positive outlook shared at press briefing on annual results / Fiscal year 2009/2010: 26 percent increase in sales to 2.85 billion euros and net profit in the triple-digit millions for the year

The international technology group SCHOTT has seen its business develop well during the first four months of the fiscal year 2010/2011 (October 1 to January 31). “We expect sales to remain at a high level and consolidated net income to continue to improve for the fiscal year as a whole,” Prof. Udo Ungeheuer, Chairman of the Board of Management, stated at the company’s annual results press conference held in St. Gallen, Switzerland. SCHOTT has thus continued its positive development after emerging from the economic crisis.
