SCHOTT Guinchard was founded in 1968 as Guinchard Verre Optique in Yverdon, Switzerland. The company first specialized in cut disks and rods, as well as instrument glasses for avionics. The products range soon broadened out to plane-parallel polished substrates, cylinder lenses, and coated components. Current products also include : aspheric lenses, high precision machined blanks, assemblies and mounted products.
Guinchard Optical Glass joined the SCHOTT Group in October 2000.
The production site is located in Yverdon, centrally situated in the French-speaking part of the country : 100 km from Geneva, 200 km from Zurich.
