SCHOTT expects double-digit sales growth for the current fiscal year
Positive outlook confirmed at press briefing on annual results / Economic crisis had negative impact on fiscal year 2008/2009
Following a rather difficult fiscal year 2008/2009 that ended on September 30, 2009, the international technology group SCHOTT is once again optimistic with respect to the future. The solid results achieved during the first five months of the new fiscal year suggest that the rest of the year will develop quite positively. “We are beginning to leave the economic crisis behind us and will increase our sales by a double-digit percentage,” reported Professor Udo Ungeheuer, the Chairman of the Board of Management, at the annual results press briefing held in Mainz on March 19. Mainz, December 8, 2009 – SCHOTT has developed a new and highly innovative syringe system. The new product was presented under the brand SCHOTT InJentle™ at the SCHOTT Pharma Symposium in Mainz, Germany, in December 2009. SCHOTT InJentle™ was developed for the special needs of highly sensitive drugs. Its unique design offers improved drug stability and a gentle application.
“The drug is not in contact with the needle or the adhesive during storage”, says Carmen Heiter, Product Manager Syringes. “This prevents sensitive drugs from interacting with the adhesive or the metal of the needle.” The innovative seal design allows the drug only to flow into the needle at the very moment when the syringe is opened, i.e. when the needle shield is pulled off. The tamper-evident closure enables physicians or patients to determine if the syringe is still unused.

Munich – A unique industry initiative to develop a reliable, sustainable and climate-friendly energy supply from the deserts in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) is now taking shape. Today in Munich the articles of association for the DII GmbH (limited liability company) were signed by the group of founding members consisting of twelve companies and the DESERTEC Foundation.
