Solar thermal power plant features receivers from SCHOTT
In June 2007, the parabolic trough power plant »Nevada Solar One«, located in Boulder City in the U.S. state of Nevada, joined the grid. The 64 megawatt power plant will produce around 129 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of solar electricity per year. This will be enough to cover the annual electricity requirement of more than 15,000 American households. »Nevada Solar One« encompasses an area of 1.4 million square meters. Acciona Solar Power Inc., a subsidiary of the
Spanish Acciona group of companies, is both the owner and the operator. Solar receivers from SCHOTT form the heart of »Nevada Solar One«.
