SCHOTT Lighting and Imaging offers customized high-tech solutions in markets such as automotive, lighting, medical, industrial and defense.
By mastering glass, fibers and processes for the production of fiber optic components and use of LED technology, we develop outstanding, market-oriented products. With our leading technological know-how and innovative ideas we ensure the success of our customers – around the world, around the clock.

Our Core Competencies
- Glass melting: Own melting facilities worldwide, development of new glass types and innovative melting processes
- Fiber drawing: Production of 240,000 km glass fiber per day (could be wound 6 times around the world); the thinnest fibers are about 50x thinner than a human hair
- Assembly process: Automated fiber harness production, epoxy and fused end assembling, optical end finishing and inspection, approx. 1 Mio automotive components per year
- Imaging fiber optics: Development and production of flexible and fused high-resolution optical components

- Industrial: Fiber optic components and LEDs for sensors, metrology and control equipment, Machine Vision and stereomicroscopy, cold light sources and accessories
