Low incidence angle of light. Field of view appears dark, defects appear bright through reflection into the camera.

Advantages:

• Suitable for highly reflective shiny surfaces
• Makes surface structure visible

Disadvantages:

• Narrow working distance
• Not suitable for flat surfaces
