Filler Curing

Dental cavities, particularly in the front teeth area, are increasingly being filled with material which can be hardened by light. The blue light (approx. 450 nm) required for the hardening process, is fed from a hand-held light source via an ergonomically shaped fiber rod or fiber taper to the tooth being treated.

For these applications we supply customer-specific shaped fiber rods or fiber tapers with a high transmission. We have developed glasses for the manufacture of these fiber rods which are absolutely free of conductivity. The excellent transmission characteristics of these glasses remain quite unaffected even after being autoclaved several thousand times.

Protective - hygienic - easy to handle

The fiber rods and fiber tapers meet all the requirements, regarding patient protection, hygiene, easy handling and biological inertness as called for by the legal requirements for medical products.
