02.07.2009, New! Zirconium-containing, low refractive glass for dental composites from SCHOTT |
SCHOTT is the world’s leading manufacturer of special glass powders used as inorganic fillers for dental composites, compomeres and glass ionomer cements. Not wishing to rest on its laurels, the company endeavors to provide customers with the most comprehensive range of inorganic fillers. The latest addition to its range of Zirconium-containing glass is G018-308, with a common refractive index of 1.53. This means that the glass is exactly matched to the most commonly used dental resins. Available in standard grind (type K) and special grind with narrow distribution (type SM), it is also available in a special grind with narrow distribution and extremely low abrasion level, otherwise known as SCHOTT® UltraFine. Produced by SCHOTT’s patented technology, the glass undergoes contamination-free grinding down to particle sizes of only 0.4 µm (d50), and offers excellent polishability, high load factors, and transparency of the composite.
