For its innovations in the areas of product development, manufacturing, and marketing of the brand SCHOTT CERAN®, SCHOTT was awarded the German Innovation Award 2010 in the Large Enterprises category. In 2011, SCHOTT is also nominated for the German Sustainability Award 2011 . For its eco-friendly glass ceramic cooktop, it is recognized as one of the TOP 3 most sustainable products and services in Germany.

SCHOTT has developed a new production process which doesn’t use the toxic heavy metals arsenic and antimony. In addition, the newest generation of cooktop panels, launched on the market in 2009, is the first one that can transmit blue light through the cooking surfaces. Above all, the eco-friendly manufacturing process of SCHOTT CERAN® is utilized as a sales-promoting argument as part of its cooperation efforts with appliance manufacturers and a selective information campaign.
