A new type of appliance makes cooks mobile. Now the convenience of cooking with CERAN® is also possible outside the kitchen. Spurred on by SCHOTT initiatives and basic developments, range manufacturers have developed portable tabletop appliances topped with CERAN®, which only need to be connected to a power source. These tabletop appliances are available with either one or two cooking zones for cooking and frying using pots and pans.
Offering the well-known advantages of cooking on CERAN®, the new portable tabletop appliances represent an interesting alternative to conventional single hotplates. All the things the user appreciates in a CERAN® cooktop panel – attractive looks, flat and pore-free surface, easy cleaning – can also be found in these new tabletop appliances. Safety is ensured by clearly visible heating rings and by residual heat indicator lamp, which stays on until the cooking zone has cooled down and is safe to touch. Their elegant design makes the new cooktops pleasant to look at both in the kitchen and on the dining table. CERAN® cooktop panels are available in various patterns and therefore blend well with their respective surroundings.
Portable tabletop appliances are particularly suitable for office or workshop kitchens and for apartments without complete kitchen facilities, such as student dorms and senior citizen homes, and also for recreational vehicles or boats and for patios or balconies.
Portable tabletop cooking appliances topped with CERAN® are as good-looking as they are practical for preparing food and keeping it hot either on the dining table or for a buffet. For a fondue party in a cozy round, for a dessert of hot crepes straight from the pan – the new cooktop eliminates the need for running back and forth between the range and the table.
