Glass Discs and Windows
"Glass disc" is a general a term used to refer to circular, square or rectangular glass windows made from a range of transparent sheet glasses and polished optical glasses.
Product Description
Glass discs and windows are made of borosilicate glass, which is a heat-resistant glass. It was created by adding boron to the traditional glassmaker's "frit" of silicate sand, soda, and ground lime. Since borosilicate glass melts at a higher temperature than ordinary silicate glass, it is more resistant to breaking.

SCHOTT Electronic Packaging offers its customers individual packaging solutions based on the diverse needs and subsequent processing systems (e.g. packing in trays to allow individual pick-up of discs from a tray using vacuum).

Quality Assurance
All precision glass discs are produced under clean-room conditions (Clean Room Class 10,000 ISO Category 7; US Federal Standard 209E; DIN EN 150 14644-1) and packed under a flowbox of clean room class 1,000.
On request, discs can be washed before packing. In order to secure the high quality of our products, SCHOTT has installed a 100% visual inspection system.
