The SCHOTT Series
|
The books in the "SCHOTT Series on Glass and Glass Ceramics
- Science, Technology and Applications" document
international research and development activities for products
and processes carried out by the companies of the SCHOTT
Group. With this series SCHOTT is aiming to provide scientists,
engineers and managers from every branch of industry
worldwide with an overview of its activities in every field where
special glasses and glass-ceramics are of interest as
materials of construction or functional materials.
Each volume begins with a chapter which provides an
introduction to current problems, results and trends relating to
the topic dealt with in it. The books are written and edited by
experts from SCHOTT and scientists or engineers from
universities, research institutes, or from our customers. They
make a contribution with their knowledge to closing the gaps
between the basic materials science textbooks and published
product information.
All the volumes are written in English and are published and
distributed in cooperation with the
Springer-Verlag,
publishing company of Heidelberg.

SCHOTT Research Reports
|
The "SCHOTT Research Reports" are a compilation of scientific
and technical publications by employees of the SCHOTT Group.
Many of the results reported on have originated in cooperation
with a variety of partners, especially where applied research
and development of characterization methods is concerned.
The trend from material-oriented investigation to applications
and technology oriented investigation has continued. The
reasons for this are environmental concerns, energy
consumption and the processing of the standard products.
These are peripheral conditions that will continue to be of
importance for some time to come yet.
The publications are organized into groups based on the main
focus of the R&D work at all the various locations within the
SCHOTT Group.
