Prof. Udo Ungeheuer honored with the Golden Gehlhoff Ring

The most prestigious award that the DDG (Deutsche Glastechnische Gesellschaft) bestows
Mainz, June 8, 2011 - Prof. Udo Ungeheuer, the Chairman of the Board of Management of SCHOTT AG, was honored at the technical conference on glass held in Saarbrücken, Germany, by the Deutsche Glastechnische Gesellschaft (DGG) by being awarded with the Golden Gehlhoff Ring. He received this honor for his many years of service as Chairman of the Board of the German glass industry’s Hüttentechnische Vereinigung and his commitment to promoting and further developing the Deutsche Glastechnische Gesellschaft.

The DGG has been issuing the Golden Gehlhoff Ring as its highest honor since 1950. It is named after the important physicist Georg Gehlhoff, who died in 1931 and had made major contributions to the work of the society as a member of its board.
