Martin Heming was born on May 6, 1956. He studied chemistry at the University of Münster (Germany), where he gained his PhD degree in physical chemistry in 1983. He worked as Post Doctoral Fellow at the University of Houston, Texas (USA) and at the University of Zurich (Switzerland) till 1988 before joining Research and Technology Development at SCHOTT.
Martin Heming is Member of the Board of Trustees of the Institute of Photonic Technology (IPHT) in Jena (Germany).
