SCHOTT strongly adheres to the belief of corporate responsibility. Our efforts in this area focus on regional projects, as well as projects involving children and teenagers.
We respect the customs and traditions of the people who live near our facilities and do our best to foster open and honest two-way communication. We also support the development of a sense
of social and individual responsibility among children and young adults in music and athletics and donate generously to charitable activities for children such as the “Run for Children,” a benefit run held annually in Mainz, Germany.

Our commitment to environmental stewardship is unwavering and robust, in respect to both product users and people who live near our production facilities. Our efforts in this area focus on environmental management and manufacturing environmentally friendly products, including our CERAN® glass-ceramic cooktop panels produced without the toxic heavy metals arsenic and antimony.

No company can hope to achieve success without highly motivated employees. We work hard to ensure that our employees can successfully juggle the demands of work and family, and
also offer an extensive health management program to our employees. Our “Stay Healthy – You Matter to Me” health program and our daycare center in Mainz, Germany, are just two examples.

We know that education and training are the keys to a better future, and we provide dedicated support for today’s and tomorrow’s best and brightest. Our efforts in this area focus on support for secondary schools, colleges, and research. We make ongoing investments in education and training for the younger generation, focusing on science education and training in secondary schools and colleges. One success story in this area is the “SCHOTT Goes Back to School” program, where retirees with scientific backgrounds tutor high school students in Mainz, Germany.
