SCHOTT fully acquired NEC SCHOTT Components Corporation
SCHOTT, a leading international technology group in the areas of specialty glass and glass-ceramics with its headquarters in Mainz (Germany), is looking to further strengthen its position in the important Japanese market for electronic components. As announced on November 24, the company has now purchased the remaining shares in the joint venture NEC SCHOTT Components Corp., Minakuchi (Japan). With the acquisition of NEC Corporation’s 49 percent share, the joint venture has become a fully-owned SCHOTT subsidiary. 更多

Efficient and biologically safe: algae cultivation in glass tubes
Closed photobioreactors (PBR) made of glass allow algae to be grown efficiently and with excellent quality. The SCHOTT technology group will present the advantages of this technology over the widespread method of cultivating algae in open pond systems, alongside an innovative wastewater treatment that generates algae as biomass, at the AlgaEurope conference in Berlin (5th – 7th December, 2017). Utah treatment plant tackles algae blooms using SCHOTT glass
A project by SCHOTT partner CLEARAS Water Recovery will serve as the centerpiece for the 2017 Algae Biomass Summit. The project, a 4-million-gallon-per-day wastewater nutrient recovery solution using SCHOTT glass tubing, marks the first large-scale commercialization of photobioreactor technology for nutrient recovery. The South Davis Sewer District will use CLEARAS’ solution to reduce nutrients that contribute to algae blooms in waterways. 更多

SCHOTT集團多年來一直致力於提升其超薄玻璃的開發。通過工業製造方法使玻璃的厚度降至30微米,超薄玻璃可應用的領域甚至超乎人們想像。比人的頭髮絲還薄的玻璃為其在電子領域提供了廣闊的應用可能。
超薄玻璃可以被設計成顯示螢幕保護玻璃、指紋感應器的外蓋或是相機晶片或鏡頭的外蓋,這主要是根據其特殊材料的性質,將其投入到電子零件中使用。當然,未來還會有更多應用的可能性。由於超薄玻璃的靈活性,已經可以將其應用到未來曲面設備的設計之中。 更多
