In 1968, the invention of ZERODUR® zero expansion glass-ceramic, SCHOTT Advanced Optics introduced a new era for various applications, of which the most challenging ones are telescope mirror substrates for astronomy. Since then, this unique material with virtually zero thermal expansion has been developed into other glass-ceramic sister products such as ZERODUR® K20.
